Choose What to Survey
On Android, every reading records the serving cell's RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, PCI, and cell ID. At walking pace it logs neighbor cells too, across 5G NR, LTE, WCDMA, and GSM, so it doubles as a cell scanner, and a dual-SIM phone records both carriers.
Android scans every visible WiFi network; iPhone records the one you are connected to. Both log Bluetooth LE devices, magnetic field, and barometric pressure, and Android adds a floor control for multi-story buildings.
Readings update as you move and a coverage heatmap builds on the map. Stand on a property and the app locks readings to its parcel, using county parcel data for most of the U.S.
The app switches between Operator mode on foot and Travel mode in a vehicle based on your speed, or you can pin either one. Recording windows limit when it records.
Every survey is kept in an archive you can filter by type. Replay any survey point by point and export it as CSV, or as a ZIP of the session on Android. Google Drive upload is optional.
Connect your own Claude or ChatGPT API key, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. On Android, ask about a specific survey and the assistant gets its readings as context.
iOS does not let apps read cell-level measurements, so the two apps differ on cellular data. For RF work that needs PCI, cell ID, or measured signal quality, use Android.

An account is required: sign in with Google, or with Apple on iPhone. By default the app records in the background and uploads your readings to Cell Surveys, where they are used in aggregated, anonymized form for coverage maps. Withdrawing data collection consent in Settings stops background recording and all uploads. There are no ads, we do not sell personal information, and you can delete your account and its data at any time.
